Halloween Warmup

What does this picture have to do with Halloween?

This is Grandma Penny's broken elbow! She fell while in NYC last week and will be scheduling surgery to fix the break. It makes me hurt just looking at it. Penny was going to be making Halloween costumes for the babies. She is an expert seamstress and has already made some cute outfits which will be coming up in a future post. I assumed that she wouldn't be able to sew with her arm in a cast, so I went on a hunt for "backup costumes".

I found costumes on Sunday and tried them on the babies to make sure that the size was correct.

Our first model was not a big fan. It was too small, so we had to take it back and get a 3T/4T! See the hangar still attached to his head so that it could be returned? He reminds me of Ralphie on A Christmas Story. Although he is modeling the Saint Bernard costume, Gavin's costume is actually a pug dog. We decided to try out the Saint Bernard costume on Emery.

A much happier Saint Bernard and a perfect fit!

It turns out that Penny still made the costumes! I found out earlier this evening and couldn't believe it. I'm SO excited. We may keep the dog costumes......Emery will at least have fun playing dressup, but the REAL costumes will be coming soon. Stay tuned for the "big reveal". :-)

GET WELL SOON GRANDMA PENNY!
