Apple Pickin'

Last weekend, we visited a local apple orchard (idea stolen from my friend Jennifer). It was a little late in the season, so the majority of apples were on the ground. This meant a lot of policing.......keeping rotted apples out of toddlers' mouths.......but there were also plenty of apples on the trees for them to help us pick. They had a good time running around, picking up rocks (Emery's new favorite pastime), and watching the tractor drive by. It was my first visit to an orchard and a interesting experience. We bought 15 lbs. of apples. On the way home, it hit me that I have to figure out something to do with all of these apples. So......my first attempt at an apple pie is in the near future.
