Why did we paint our kid's head green?

For Saint Patrick's Day (a little early) of course! Not really........the doctor recommended Selsun Blue for a really bad case of cradle cap. The picture makes it looks like there was just a green tint, but it was bright green! We seriously could have entered him in the Saint Patty's day parade!

Mess #2

About an hour after the poop incident, I was feeding Ethan and Gavin was sitting right next to the chair drawing on a pad of paper......or so I thought.

I think I'll just go back to bed.

**After coming up with a title for this post, I feel like I should go back and title the last post "#2 mess". haha

A poop story......

8:00am this morning- I was folding laundry at the kitchen table when I heard Emery scream "What happened? There's poop! There's poop!". Great. I looked in the living room to see Gavin naked, sitting on the floor next to his diaper. You guess it......in a pile of poop.

So, I started the cleanup process while explaining over and over that "we do not take off our diapers when we poop". In the mean time, Emery is determined that she is going to clean the poop off of the carpet with a wipe. So....now I've got poop covered boy on my left and tantrum throwing girl on my right, all because I wouldn't let her clean up Gavin's poop! Two year old logic never ceases to amaze me.

Since I got to enjoy poop with my morning coffee, I thought you should too. :-) And yes, potty training is right around the corner.

Going on a trip!

These two travelers were nice enough to stop for a picture before they left on their "trip". Backpack (aka: suitcase) is filled with foam bathtub letters. Boots are so they can cross the water on their trip. :-)



They've been cracking me up with their imagination. Sometimes they'll get ready for school and go "catch the bus". They kiss me goodbye, say "see you later alligator", and head out (roam around the house) with their backpacks on their way to school. The other day, after an hour of playing "school", this is what I found in the kitchen.......




Let's hope they'll be this organized when they really start school!


About the lack of clothes in the first picture: We have actually been doing a great job around here getting dressed everyday and KEEPING clothes on! This picture was taken after bath time and before pajamas. I know that my days of posting pictures of kids in just a diaper is coming to an end, but a diaper and rain boots was too cute to pass up.

2 months! I grow 'em big.........

Ethan and I made a trip to the pediatrician yesterday for his 2 month checkup. This kid is HUGE.........

Weight: 15 lbs. 10 oz.
Height: 24 1/2 inches
Both are in the 95th-97th percentile.

I know I keep saying this, but he's a big guy! I had to buy some 9 month clothes this weekend because he's almost outgrown everything else! He continues to be a really easy baby and is even starting to sleep longer at night. By longer, I mean that I've had a couple of nights with a 3 1/2 to 4 hour stretch, which is awesome! He's smiling, laughing, talking (cooing), and loves attention!

As a comparison, Gavin was 13 lbs. 5 oz. and 22 1/2 inches at 2 months (6 lbs. 11 1/2 oz. at birth) and had chunked up to almost 17 lbs. by 4 months. I just have big kids I guess!

This morning, Gavin woke up with a runny nose. As the morning went on, it was obvious that he wasn't feeling well. After I felt his forehead for a fever, he said "Mommy, I need to get some rest. I have a fever." He took his blanket into his room, laid down in his bed, and has been sleeping ever since.

I'm sure he learned this from the tv show Caillou (episode where Rosy is sick with the flu). So, letting my kids watch too much tv has finally paid off!

If you don't know who Caillou is, just be glad. :-)

Dinosaurs!

It's been cold and rainy lately, so we've been doing a lot of hanging around the house going stir crazy! We're ready for the weather to change.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a short improvement in the weather and made a trip to a local museum to check out the dinosaur exhibit. We followed the trail to each of the dinosaurs, which moved and roared! The kids were definitely in awe, but not scared like I thought they might be.

Like I said.......Gavin was in AWE!

Emery was more interested in putting rocks in her pockets and jumping off of the small ledges, but she had fun nonetheless. :-)

The grand finale was T-Rex!

Gavin took a tumble on the trail just before this picture was taken. He literally froze in his tracks when he saw T-Rex. As we were coaxing him to "keep it movin'" so that other people could get by, he bit the dust because his eyes were glued to the dinosaur up ahead. Emery has her hands in the air doing her best dinosaur roar!

Let's hope that warmer/dryer weather is around the corner!
