Gavin checking out the parade with Grandma........

Emery taking in the action before she discovered the CANDY!
Collecting candy.......
Checking out her loot.......
Emery LOVES watermelon!

After Gavin and Emery's afternoon nap, we headed over to Vandaddy and Mimi's house for dinner. The kids had a great time watching their new Thomas the Train video. We headed home and put them to bed late, THINKING that they would be worn out. WRONG!
When staying at Grandma's house, the kids sleep in the guest bedroom in pack n' plays. After they were in bed for a few minutes, it was oddly quite and I heard a strange noise. I opened the door to find Emery out of her pack n' play and across the room playing with some of Grandma's collectible figurine dolls. We returned her to bed several times and she escaped again before we could even close the door. Finally, we put her in Gavin's bed, with slightly higher sides, and moved Gavin to her bed. I guess the days of pack n' plays are just about over. In addition to climbing out, they are both shaking and bumping the pack n' plays until the bed "hops" across the room, so that they can get to whatever they are trying to reach (ie: decorative tea set on the night stand). We're travelling again soon, so I'm sure this will continue to be an issue. I have NO IDEA what I'm going to do. If they were climbing out of their cribs at home, then we would buy crib tents or transition to toddler beds and make sure that the room was stripped of everything breakable, dangerous, or interesting. My step dad suggested strapping a lid on the pack n' play. That might not be a bad idea. :-)

How cute. Not the climbing out of bed part. Girl I tell ya everything you write on your blog my kids do a few months later. I love Emery's pic of her eating watermelon. I just finished a scrap layout of my kiddos doing the same.
Oh my goodness- your kids look so grown up! It's crazy how fast kiddos grow! I know it's frustrating that they're getting out of their beds, but I can't help but laugh when imagining them making their beds hop! ha! Determined little things- aren't they?? The days are coming soon when Reese and Riley are partners in crime too! I think there's a market for a bed with a lid! You should create it- you'd make millions! :)
