After months of not being able to meet the physical demands of disciplining 2 year old twins while I was pregnant, it's time for things to change. I still have 2 weeks before I'm able to lift more than 10 lbs. (because of the c-section), but as I am feeling more like my old self, we are gearing up for an attitude adjustment.
I won't go into the details of how the discipline has deteriorated over the last few months, but I'll sum it up as:
1. WAY too much tv
2. WAY too little enforcement of time outs
3. Doing what I had to do to make it through the day
I did try to use lots of positive reinforcement and of course bribery, but that only goes so far. It's like they smelled weakness and knew that I couldn't keep up with them, and they used it to their advantage.
As things were sliding downhill, I just kept my fingers crossed that the discipline wouldn't be too far gone by the time we got "back to normal". So, here we are. Wish me luck because I'm afraid I'll need lots of it!
In addition, I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to keep my sanity the last few weeks by stopping by to lend a hand. You know who you are and we will welcome you back anytime! :-)

I hear you on that list! I need to remind myself that "making it through" the weekend (in our case) isn't enough. It was when I had infants but now with toddlers I need to PARENT. We'll see.
