The BIG slide

A couple of weeks ago, we (my mom and I) loaded up the kids for a trip to the park. This may not sound like anything special, but after being couped up in the house for WAY too long, it was a much needed outing. Plus, it was our maiden voyage with all 3 kids in the car (3 car seats squeezed into the backseat of my Toyota 4Runner).

It had literally been about 3 months since Gavin and Emery were last at a playground. During the last couple months of my pregnancy, the first few weeks with a newborn, the swine flu paranoia, and the cold winter weather, it just hadn't been on the agenda. It was AMAZING how much the kids had changed in the past few months! A few months ago, they would barely go down the small slide, even if we were holding their hands all the way down! They didn't have much interest in climbing on the play structure, which is strange because they climb on everything they can find in our house!

So, imagine my surprise when during this visit they went straight to the BIG slide and didn't hesitate to slide down.

They climbed up and slid down over and over again. I was shocked. They loved it!

A little static in that hair??

We also did lots of swinging, with the help of Grandma.

And yes, Ethan was there too, hanging out in the stroller........

They needed the trip outdoors, but it made me realize how fast they are growing up!

Way too fast if you ask me! My little daredevil this weekend called for help because she ended up slipping and clinging to a pole 6 ft above the ground! I start hyperventilating just thinking about going to the park!
