A tribute to MJ

The second cassette tape that I ever owned was Michael Jackson's Thriller. The first was Bruce Springsteen, which was a Christmas gift, but Thriller was the first tape that I REALLY REALLY wanted. I got it for my 9th or 10th birthday (can't remember for sure), along with a Michael Jackson Trapper Keeper and notebook. For Christmas, I also got a pair of parachute pants, just like 1/2 of the other kids my age. I still have the cassette tape, but I'm not sure what happened to the Trapper Keeper or the parachute pants. And if you're wondering what my 3rd cassette tape was......it was Wham. Gotta love George Michael. :-)

Today, while the kids were eating dinner, a tribute to Michael Jackson was playing on the news in the background. Emery heard the music and started dancing in her chair. Every time it would end, she would beg for more. So........I thought it would be appropriate to have a Michael Jackson dance party after bath time.

This video is "only family members will watch it" LONG.....like 5 minutes long. So, don't feel like you have to watch the whole thing, but if you do, I hope you enjoy!

As weird as he may have been, it definitely says something for his music that my almost 2 year old daughter loves it 25 years after I got that cassette tape!

I'll be back soon with pictures of our 9 day long vacation to Red River, New Mexico! We had lots of fun, but it's taken us a while to get back in the groove of things!

Trapper Keeper!! That is a blast from the past!

My sister and I used to listen to Thriller in our bedroom with the lights out. SO SCARY.

I loved it. She certainly has learned quite a few more moves since my last visit. She'll be doing the MJ moon-walk soon.

What? Better than Carman and the Cruze Family? Perosnally I wanted more pictures of Farah. :)

I wanted parachute pants SO BAD but never got them. I did, however, have a necklace with a sparkly glove charm with an "MJ" on top. Totally rad.

I think I need to learn a few dancing tips from Emery!

"Raise the Roof"...AWESOME! Next you need to teach her the Cabbage Patch or the Running Man!
