Smarties

Nothing too exciting going on around here, so not much posting going on. :-) Also, I don't take as many pictures of the kids when Pete is home. Taking pictures is part of keeping my sanity on a daily basis by being able to show Pete what we did all day. Now that Pete is home, I don't need to show him.........he can experience it!

One thing that has been going on is LOTS of bribery. The kids have been on a little bit of a rampage for the last few weeks. We've tried time outs for many months now, with very little success. So, time for something new.......CANDY! Now, if you have anything negative to say, just keep it to yourself for now because it's working for us. For a diaper change with no kicking and screaming, they get one Smarty. Not a roll of Smarties, just one. If they get up in their chair for dinner the first time I ask, then they get a Smarty.

The first day that I used the bribery method, I was AMAZED at how much they understood. For instance, "pick up your toys, come out of the bedroom, and close the door behind you.....and you'll get a surprise". All of a sudden, my kids are geniuses! haha They still have their moments where positive reinforcement (bribery) doesn't work, but just getting Gavin to lay still for a diaper change is a miracle!

Also, I kept our dental insurance when signing up for COBRA, so we'll be getting their little sugar coated teeth cleaned soon! That should be a good photo opportunity!
